Bespoke Cabinetry & Fitted Joinery
for Architects
At Foxstow, we work with architects on residential projects where bespoke cabinetry and fitted joinery form part of the wider architectural scheme.
We manufacture project-specific kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, boot rooms, utility rooms, studies, fitted storage and other bespoke joinery from our Oxfordshire workshop. Our team works from architectural drawings and specifications, supporting projects from developed packages through to schemes where joinery details still need to be resolved.
Our role is to take the agreed design information through technical development, manufacture, and installation while maintaining the materials and detailing established by the architectural scheme.
As Featured In

Working From Architectural Information
Foxstow works from the drawings, schedules and specifications issued by the architectural team.
Depending on the project, this information may include:
- Plans and detailed drawings
- Joinery and cabinetry schedules
- Material and finish specifications
- Detailed dimensions and setting-out information
- Appliance and equipment requirements
- Bespoke architectural details
- Sections and interface details
- Existing-condition or site-survey information
We use the agreed information as the basis for developing the cabinetry package for manufacture.
Where further technical information is required, we work with the architectural team to resolve it before production.
Technical Development
& Shop Drawings
Before manufacture begins, the agreed design information needs to be translated into a level of detail suitable for production and installation.
Our technical development process considers the construction of the cabinetry alongside the specific requirements of the project, including dimensions, interfaces, materials, reveals, panels, doors and adjacent building elements.
Sketch Scheme Drawings for Approval
Before manufacture begins, we issue a full set of sketch scheme drawings for review and approval. Depending on the project, these may include:
- Cabinetry dimensions
- Plans
- Layouts and elevations
- Construction details
- Internal arrangements
- Door and drawer configurations
- Appliance integration
- Other relevant specifications.
The drawings are issued to the architect or other party responsible for the cabinetry package, providing an opportunity to review the details and confirm that the proposed design aligns with the agreed requirements.
Once approved, the drawings and specification form the basis for manufacture. If changes are requested after approval, we will review the requirements and discuss any implications for the project and cost. Where manufacture has already begun, changes may need to be treated as a project variation.

CAD & Design Information
We work primarily in AutoCAD and can receive and work from DWG and PDF information.
We don't currently work natively in Revit/BIM, although information from those models can be issued to us in suitable drawing/CAD formats for us to develop our production information.

Tailored Joinery Across
the Property
We manufacture joinery for individual rooms as well as larger whole-house schemes.
Our scope includes:
- Kitchens
- Bedrooms and dressing areas
- Bathrooms
- Boot rooms and utility rooms
- Studies and home offices
- Bookcases and fitted storage
- Under-stairs cabinetry
- Other architectural fitted joinery
Because every project is made to order, the cabinetry can be developed around the specific dimensions and requirements of the property rather than selected from a fixed product range.
For projects where bespoke joinery forms only part of the overall cabinetry package, we can also produce made-to-measure doors and other components designed to integrate with third-party or standardised systems.
Materials & Sustainability
We recognise that architects and clients increasingly require clear information about the materials used within a project and how they are sourced.
All Foxstow cabinetry is manufactured at our workshop in West Oxfordshire, with our design and manufacturing teams based on the same site. Our timber is sourced through a trusted supplier committed to responsible sourcing throughout the chain of custody. We use oak from responsibly managed forestry concessions in Croatia and tulipwood sourced from the Appalachian Mountains in the United States.
We also use water-based paints with lower VOC levels and design our cabinetry with longevity in mind, with the option to upcycle existing cabinetry where appropriate.
For more information about our approach, please see our Sustainability page.

A Flexible Joinery Partner
Our level of involvement is determined by the requirements of the project.
For some schemes, we receive a fully developed joinery package and take it through technical development, manufacture, and installation. For others, we become involved earlier to help resolve how bespoke cabinetry will be constructed and integrated into the wider scheme.
This allows architectural teams to involve Foxstow at the stage that best suits the project.
Recent Projects

Mirror Pavilion
Created in collaboration with DuCroz Architects for Bruern Events, Mirror Pavilion is a transportable venue inspired by traditional Spiegeltents and 1930s cabaret clubs. Foxstow contributed to the design and creation of the timberwork, seating booths, and intricate gold fretwork, with 3D modelling, sample mock-ups, and full-scale prototypes used to refine the pavilion's proportions and detailing.
The joinery also needed to be fully demountable, with tolerances built into the design to accommodate discrepancies when the structure was assembled.

Bloxham Mill
Working as part of a wider refurbishment designed by DuCroz Architects, Foxstow helped create a new working environment at Bloxham Mill. The project transformed the building from 66 individual offices into a more open-plan workspace.
Foxstow manufactured elements including the solid oak slotted entrance screen, the oak and walnut Amoeba table, timber-framed private pods, and a contemporary kitchen with flat-panel doors and J-groove handles. The project demonstrates how bespoke joinery can support a wider architectural concept while meeting the practical demands of a busy commercial environment.

The Malvern Hills Kitchen
For this new-build home in the Malvern Hills, Foxstow supplied the cabinetry to create a kitchen that balances traditional detailing with a more contemporary feel. The clients chose a distinctive palette of green and warm pink, complemented by slimline and super-skinny doors, open shelving, and an integrated L-shaped island.
The result is a well-proportioned kitchen that brings considered detail and practical storage together, while sitting naturally within the wider home.

Let’s Work Together
If you are an architect working on a residential project that includes bespoke cabinetry or fitted joinery, we would be happy to review your drawings and discuss the project requirements.
Whether the joinery package is fully developed or still at an earlier design stage, we can establish how Foxstow fits into the project team.
