General FAQs

Why should I trust Foxstow to make my cabinets?

Choosing Foxstow means working with a team that combines expert craftsmanship with thoughtful design. Every cabinet is manufactured to the highest standards, with sizes and finishes that suit your exact requirements. We listen carefully to your practical and aesthetic goals to craft kitchens and cabinetry that are not only beautiful but built to last.

Guided by principles of proportion, symmetry, and simplicity, our designs improve your home while reflecting your individual taste and character.

Can you make any-sized cabinet?

Yes, all of our doors and cabinetry are made to order, which means we can manufacture them to suit any dimension. Whether you are replacing existing doors or creating a completely bespoke installation, we can produce pieces that fit your exact measurements.

Do you offer a warranty for your cabinets?

We take pride in crafting products of the highest quality. In the rare event that something goes wrong due to our fault, we prefer to handle it ourselves rather than relying on a third-party insurance provider. This allows us to deal directly with you, providing a more personal solution and reassuring you that the issue will be resolved properly.

By managing the process in-house, we maintain full control over the quality of the repair or replacement, ensuring the highest standards of service and care every time.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we regularly ship orders across the UK and internationally. Our team can organise appropriate packaging and logistics to ensure your items arrive safely, regardless of destination. Shipping costs and times will vary depending on location and order size.

Do you offer trade or seasonal discounts?

We maintain consistent pricing year-round to keep things fair. For larger projects or repeat trade orders, we may be able to offer volume-based pricing depending on the scale of the work.

If you are working on a substantial project, please contact us, and we will be happy to discuss the details.

What is your typical lead time?

As each order is made to specification, lead times can vary depending on the design, finish, and quantity required. In most cases, orders are completed within approximately 6 to 10 weeks, although this may change during particularly busy periods.

If you are working to a specific project deadline, it’s best to let us know early so we can plan accordingly.

Do you provide installation services?

We work with a trusted network of professional installers who are familiar with our products. In many cases, we can recommend experienced fitters within a reasonable distance of our workshop.

If you already have your own installer, we are happy to liaise with them and provide any technical details they may need. This helps ensure the installation runs smoothly and the finished result meets expectations.

Material & Finishes

Where does your timber come from?

We source our timber from trusted suppliers that prioritise quality and responsible forestry practices. Different species are selected depending on the requirements of the design, ensuring the finished product offers both durability and visual appeal. Natural timber brings warmth and character to cabinetry, with subtle variations in grain that make each piece unique.

Where does your MDF come from?

The MDF we use is sourced from reputable European manufacturers who specialise in high-quality engineered wood products. This material is widely used in premium painted cabinetry due to its stability and smooth surface. It machines cleanly and produces a consistent finish when spray-painted. As a result, it is an ideal choice for modern painted cabinetry where a flawless appearance is important.

What paints and finishes do you use?

We use high-quality, water-based spray finishes that are both durable and environmentally responsible. Doors can be colour-matched to most popular paint brands, giving you flexibility when coordinating with the rest of your interior design.

Our standard finish is a low-sheen matt that provides a modern, understated look. Satin finishes are also available for customers who prefer a slightly higher level of sheen.

What sheen level is your paint?

Our standard finish is 15% flat matt, which gives a smooth look ideal for most cabinetry. We can also provide a 40% satin finish for a subtle sheen and slightly more depth. We do not offer high-gloss (80%) finishes, as our focus is on creating durable, elegant finishes that complement a wide range of interiors.

Why do you use slab MDF for painted doors?

Slab MDF is particularly well-suited to painted cabinetry because it provides a perfectly smooth and stable surface. Unlike traditional timber constructions, it does not contain joints that can expand or contract over time and potentially show through the paint. This allows us to achieve a very clean, uniform finish. It also works exceptionally well with CNC machining, which ensures precision across every piece.

Design & Compatibility

Can you manufacture custom cabinetry designs?

Yes. In addition to our standard designs, we regularly manufacture bespoke cabinetry created from client sketches, architectural drawings, or design concepts.

Our team will review the design and advise on any practical adjustments needed to ensure it performs well over time. This collaborative process allows us to maintain the integrity of the design while ensuring it is suitable for manufacturing. This results in cabinetry that is both visually distinctive and built to last.

Does your cabinetry fit existing home layouts?

Yes, we frequently produce cabinetry designed to fit popular kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and utility room layouts. This makes it possible to upgrade the appearance of an existing room without replacing the entire carcass structure. If you already have design plans or cabinet specifications, you can simply send them to us, and we will advise on compatibility.

Do you offer a design service?

For customers looking for a complete cabinetry solution, we can provide a full design service. This typically includes technical drawings, layout planning, and guidance on materials and finishes. The service helps ensure every element works cohesively within the space.

If you are only ordering replacement doors, a full design service may not be required, but we are always happy to provide advice.

Can you manufacture angled cabinets?

Yes. Angled or sloped cabinets are fully achievable and often simpler than many clients expect. Our team has extensive experience creating cabinets and doors to fit sloping ceilings, angled walls, or runs of wardrobes that require perfectly aligned sloped doors.

We’ll work with your measurements and design requirements to ensure a precise finish. Give us a call to explore the options and find the solution that works best for your space.

Ordering & Quotes

How do I request a quote?

The easiest way to request a quote is to send us your measurements, design drawings, or a cabinet component list. This allows our team to understand exactly what you need and provide an accurate estimate. Once we’ve reviewed the details, we’ll get back to you with pricing and any recommendations.

Are quotes free of charge?

Yes, we offer free quotes for all our customers. Our goal is to provide full transparency so you have all the information you need before making a decision.

Once you submit a quote request, our team carefully reviews your specifications and prepares a detailed, bespoke quote tailored specifically to your project. This ensures you know exactly what to expect and can move forward with confidence.

Do you provide samples?

Yes, samples are available so you can see the quality of our doors and finishes in person. These usually include a section of the chosen door style finished in your selected colour.

Ordering a sample is a useful way to assess the texture and paint finish before proceeding with a larger project. For those who place a purchase with us, we will refund the cost of the sample.
