This beautiful period property in rural Oxfordshire underwent a complete renovation and extension, creating a wonderful family home with a large new kitchen and dining space. We were fortunate to be involved throughout the house, designing and making bespoke joinery for almost every room.
Working alongside architects HollandGreen, we used their architectural drawings as the starting point and developed the detailed joinery designs ourselves. From there, we worked closely with the clients through regular meetings and conversations, considering how each room would be used and finding practical solutions that worked for their family and the character of the property.
The project included the kitchen, utility and boot room, cabinetry for the snug and lounge, bespoke wine storage, fitted wardrobes for the children's bedrooms, a master bedroom dressing room and bathroom vanity units. Several areas were particularly tight on space, so careful planning was key to creating as much useful storage as possible without overwhelming the rooms.
One of our favourite pieces is the wine storage, designed to fit beautifully within an existing arched opening. Curved glass doors follow the shape of the arch, with oak shelving and integrated lighting creating a lovely display for the client's wine collection.
With so many different rooms involved, the project gave us the opportunity to create joinery which feels individual to each space whilst still working together as part of the same home.
