Simple way to purchase custom doors for your IKEA Pax wardrob

There's nothing quite like the look of a bespoke, floor to ceiling wardrobe. By pairing IKEA’s brilliant PAX frames with our handmade doors, you get the best of both worlds. Here is a handy little guide to help you measure up and get your order exactly right.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE ORDERING

Ikea PAX wardrobes come in 2 different heights.

A taller unit at 236cm known as PAX 4

and a slightly smaller unit at 201cm known as PAX 3.

They also come in three different widths, 50cm, 75cm & 100cm wide.

Please make sure you know the height and width of your IKEA PAX before you place your order.

Do you know if you require any fillers or clad on panels? Usually if a
wardrobe is going up against a wall a filler is required and if you have
a visible side to a wardrobe you will require a clad on panel.

WHAT WE MAKE FOR YOUR WARDROBE

Doors - In a variety of styles to get the bespoke look, for less.

Filler - Fills the space between the cabinet and the wall.

Clad on end panels - Fitted to the exposed ends of your units to complete the look.

Plinth - Used to bridge the gap between the floor and the bottom of your cabinets to hide away cabinet legs.

Finished cornice - Decorative mouldings to provide a finishing touch.

FOR A FREESTANDING WARDROBE

In this example, we have a PAX 4 wardrobe with 2 x 100cm wide unit. This wardrobe is placed in the middle of the room (ends visible).

For this set up, you would need to order:

2 x Clad on end panels (2360 x 605 x 22mm) - For the left and right visible sides.

4 x Doors (2295 x 495 x 22mm) - All doors are made slightly shorter smaller to allow for a 60mm plinth below.

1 x Plinth (60 x 2300 x 22mm) – Cut to size on site.

1 x Square edge cornice (60 x 2300 x 22mm) - Cut to size on site,

FOR A CORNER LOCATED WARDROBE

In this example, we have a PAX 4 wardrobe with 1 x 75cm wide unit and 1 x 50cm wide unit placed in the corner of the room.

For this set up, you would need to order:

1 x Filler (2300 x 100 x 22mm ) - For the right hand side against the wall.

1 x Clad on end panel (2360 x 605 x 22mm) - For the right hand side where the unit is visible)

2 x Doors (2295 x 375 x 22mm) - For 75cm wide unit and
1 x Doors (2295 x 495 x 22mm) - For 50cm wide unit.

All doors are made slightly shorter to allow for a standard 60mm plinth below.

1 x Plinth (60 x 2300 x 22mm) - Cut to size on site.

1 x Bullnose Cornice (60 x 2300 x 22mm) - Cut to size on site.

THINGS TO NOTE

We drill the hinge holes to match the IKEA PAX system exactly. They’re in the precise same spots as a standard IKEA door, so you can just click them straight into place.

For certain styles, we’ll need to know which side the hinges are going on. Please let us know your hinge sides in the order notes if you have them worked out.

Which way do they swing?

Please purchase your hinges directly from IKEA, as we don’t supply them. If you’re unsure about anything, just let us know and we'll gladly help you out.

Hinges

To give you total flexibility on where your handles or knobs sit, we leave our doors un-drilled for handles. Your fitter can easily drill these on-site.

Handle Holes

We can do this, but our heavy, high quality doors require a heavy duty rail system and specialist infill pieces rather than standard IKEA tracks. As this requires extra planning, please get in touch with us for a quote.
