This is a great example of IKEA meets Bespoke, and how our Bolt-On Service can bring the two together.
During the full renovation of a Regency house in Hove, we worked with the interior designer on the kitchen. Using IKEA cabinets as a starting point, we made our Slimline Shaker doors and bespoke panels to give the kitchen a beautifully fitted finish, alongside additional cabinetry made specifically for the house.
Our Slimline Shaker doors have narrow 25mm stiles, giving the classic Shaker design a fresh, more modern look. The main kitchen cabinetry and tall fitted cupboards are colour-matched to Shaded White by Farrow and Ball, while the contrasting island is finished in Invisible Green by Edward Bulmer Paint. The island also features a Bora hob with an integrated extractor.
With the age and layout of the house, fitting standard kitchen units wasn't entirely straightforward. We made bespoke panels and worked around the existing walls and features to ensure everything fitted neatly into place.
The original fireplace sits between two tall cabinets which we made to fit the spaces on either side. They provide plenty of additional storage while keeping the arrangement nicely symmetrical.
One of the cabinets also has a drinks area hidden behind its doors, with shelves and integrated lighting for bottles and glassware. It's a lovely little surprise when the doors are opened.
