Set within a large country house in Oxfordshire, this wonderfully spacious kitchen gave us the opportunity to create a striking new centrepiece for the room. The original white cabinetry was retained and carefully reworked, along with the existing appliances, whilst a generous oak island was designed to bring warmth, texture and a more considered feel to the space.
The island combines reeded oak detailing with softly curved ends and a beautifully simple white worktop. Deep drawers and cupboards provide plenty of storage for a large family, whilst the generous proportions create lots of space for cooking, eating and gathering together.
And, of course, we couldn’t forget the dogs. A cosy space was designed into the island especially for them, neatly tucked beneath the worktop – a small bespoke detail that makes the kitchen very much their own.
